Hello Subject 4!
I wanted to make an announcement: Season 7 of Project 863 is being put on an indefinite hiatus. I know this is disappointing news, but I did want to thank you all that supported us this far on your patience, your creativity and your utter joy that I felt from your comments and reading your theories here and on Discord——truly, we wouldn’t have got this far if it wasn’t for all of you!
Project 863 was always something that heavily relied on the broader community and audience (Subject 4) in order to create that magic of this incredibly unique immersive narrative, and it was always going to be a challenge switching that into a book form as I’m sure many of you are aware. As of right now, the story is unable to survive here on Substack as per engagement analytics as well as my ability to keep up with everything that needs to be done for it, both creatively and operationally.
I absolutely do not want to skimp on quality, I believe you guys deserve the best! And, unfortunately right now, that is just not something I can keep up with. Again, I know this is disappointing because Season 6 ended on a big cliffhanger.
The billing freeze for the paid subs is going to be lifted: I am doing this for two reasons:
I want to give everyone the opportunity to access these chapters at any time, whether they’ve already read them or through referrals or even naturally through Substack.
There may be a time that we return to this Substack, for Project 863 or perhaps another project within the same universe, and I don’t want Substack thinking it’s completely offline.
If you do not wish to remain subscribed, please cancel your paid subscription before your billing date. This is not something that I can keep up with for the hundreds of subs we have, so I encourage you to look at your billing date as soon as you read this announcement! You can resubscribe again down the line, if you so wish.
I will be integrating into the Overkill team, so I will not be going anywhere! But, again, I wanted to thank you all for the support that you provided down this fun journey: I really couldn’t have done it without you.
Remember to breathe and always stay curious, Subject 4.
